About the artist
My name is Heidi Marie-Peterson and I make unique handcrafted greeting cards and prints from heart rocks found in and around Acadia National Park. As a Mount Desert Island native, I attribute my deep gratitude for nature to having grown up in Maine. I feel most at peace when I am admiring the rocky coastline in search of heart rocks to photograph. I live in Bar Harbor, Maine and can be found heart rock hunting year-round along Maine's beautiful coastline.
Inspiration
My love for spending hours on the rocky coastline of Maine looking for heart rocks has been a lifelong passion of mine. The beautiful thing is I can return to the same beach for years and it is different, each and every time. This photograph was taken on the Shore Path in Bar Harbor, Maine, where you can find me multiple times a week year-round. As a Mainer, artist, and lover of heart rocks - it never gets old, or too cold!

Photographing my heart rock art sparked a passion for sharing my photography with friends and family in the form of handcrafted greeting cards. I now create and sell both greeting cards and matted prints, which have garnered lots of attention from locals and visitors alike.
